Dr Rukhsana Jabar — Medical Director
Known as Dr Ros by her patients
Every iron infusion at IronOx Clinic is overseen by Dr Ros or a trained medical professional. You are monitored throughout, from consultation to completion.

An unusual path to medicine
Dr Ros didn't follow a conventional route into medicine. She began her career as a pharmacist, earning a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology and eventually rising to Consultant Pharmacist — one of the most senior positions in pharmaceutical practice. For over a decade, she worked at the intersection of drug therapy, patient safety, and clinical protocols.
Then she went back to medical school. She completed her MBBCh, trained as a doctor, and added a Postgraduate Diploma in Endocrinology. She built her career in acute medicine and A&E — the front line of hospital medicine. It's this dual background that sets her apart: she doesn't just prescribe iron infusions — she understands the pharmacology behind every milligram, every interaction, every patient response.
IronOx Clinic came about from Dr Ros's personal experience of exhaustion with no clear path — lots of delays interfering with day-to-day life. She saw the same in her patients. A conversation with a consultant haematologist friend gave her the impetus to create a dedicated, fast-access iron infusion service.
Her philosophy is straightforward: listen carefully, test properly, treat only when it's clinically appropriate, and never rush a patient out the door. Over 160 patients have left five-star reviews. Most of them mention Dr Ros by name.

Clinical philosophy
“I don't prescribe iron infusions for everyone — only when it's clinically appropriate. That's the difference between a dedicated service and a side-offering.”
Dr Ros practises evidence-based, conservative medicine. Every patient receives a thorough clinical assessment before any treatment decision is made. If your blood results don't indicate a need for an infusion, she'll tell you — and she'll explain what to do instead.
This approach is patient-centred, not sales-centred. There's no pressure to book, no upselling, no unnecessary treatments. Dr. Ros follows NICE guidelines and current clinical evidence for every decision she makes.
It's this honesty that earns trust. Patients come back because they know Dr Ros will always give them a straight answer — even when that answer is "you don't need this."
Dr Ros's approach
- Evidence-based — every decision backed by NICE guidelines and current research
- Conservative — treatment only when clinically indicated, never for commercial reasons
- Patient-centred — thorough assessment, clear communication, no time pressure
- Transparent — honest about what you need and what you don't
- Continuous — GP report within 24 hours, follow-up guidance, ongoing support
